Housing and Housing Counseling Services

Housing Counseling

Assists clients in purchasing homes, provides rental assistance, helps homeless persons secure permanent housing.  Serves Region 2000.  Educational workshops, financial counseling by certified HUD counselors, coordination between potential buyers/renters and housing service providers. 

Section 8 Housing

Helping residents obtain safe, decent, sanitary and affordable housing through the issuance of Housing Choice Vouchers.  These vouchers enable residents to have a choice in the type of housing in which they choose to reside.  The program assists applicants with pre-inspections and annual re-inspections to insure owners' compliance with all housing quality standards.  Lyn-CAG has offices in Amherst, Appomattox and Bedford.  See the "Offices" section of the website for a detailed listing.
