It is always a pleasure to say thank you to the many organizations and people that assist community action programs and the causes they serve. The life expectancy of organizations such as Lynchburg Community Action Group, Inc. would be short lived without such support. Moreover, survival of countless individuals and the assurance that they receive the basic necessities of life is made possible by volunteers and donors who continue to give of their time and financial reserves.

The circumstances for those seeking assistance have not changed much. Homelessness is still prevalent. The need for help to replace windows and doors, repair roofs, weatherize homes, replace heating units, install handicap ramps and handicap bathroom facilities continues to make a demand for Lyn-CAG’s resources.

The present times are challenging. Nevertheless, this agency remains focused on its mission. The mission of Lyn-CAG is to effectively assist low- to moderate– income individuals and families in the Central Virginia community to move from economic and social dependency to self-sufficiency. Lyn-CAG’s primary focus has been to provide a responsive range of programs and services developed to meet the specific needs of the Central Virginia area. Our agency serves as a strong proponent in the prevention, reduction or elimination of poverty and adverse situations in the lives of those we serve.
